Run For Relief

Run for Relief is a 5k run/walk and a 100-meter dash for kids. Our sponsors will be hosting booths and breakfast at the event so bring your friends and family for a morning of fun. Sponsors will also be handing out prizes to the top runners in each division (age, gender, etc.).

Join the popular “flip flop” division and honor the villagers who have to flee with only a pair of sandals on their feet. All funds raised will go to help the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Burma. It’s easy to join Run for Relief just go to .

The Background

For thousands of villagers throughout Burma, running is part of everyday life. Forced from their homes, they flee with the fear of being shot by the Burma Army or maimed by landmines. Let us join together to show that those who have the freedom to run have not forgotten those who have no choice but to run. We are passionate about helping Burmese people in their situations and telling their stories. Many do not have the simple freedoms we have and are constantly in dangerous circumstances with no chance to escape.
